In 2017, a team of 24 riders left Kampala for a 900km ride around Lake Victoria on handcrafted Boogaali gravel bikes. Our Boogaali frames handled dirt, gravel, rocks, pavement (and potholes) without a single breakdown. Kasoma and his team did an amazing job having all 26 frames that we ordered ready on time. I continue to ride my Boogaali frame on a daily basis and was recently the first person ever to complete the Iceman Cometh Challenge on a bamboo bicycle!

Actually my BBB (Boogaali Bamboo Bike) has had its first ride today !!!

A tour of 75km to test it under a wonderful sunny day on the hills at the foot of the Vercors mountains.

The feeling is excellent, especially the confort with the vibrations’damping.

The response is good, although the weight of the machine (11,5kg) due to the strong frame, mainly thanks to very good carbon wheels.

The components have been well selected, the complete crankset is SRAM Force1 with 11speed . 

I still have to adjust the stem for a better position, but all in all, I am more than happy. This will be my training bike on the road.
